This Catholic Sisters Week, the Dominican Sisters of Hope invite everyone to join us in Being Hope by participating in our campaign to live more sustainably! Everyone who makes a pledge by March 14 to conserve energy, eliminate single-use plastic, or reduce meat in your diet will be entered into a drawing to receiven an eco-friendly gift. More than 70 of our sisters, associates, and staff have already committed to actions including Meatless Mondays, not buying produce in plastc tubs, refusing single-use water bottles, vegetarian Lent, walking to work (weather permitting), shopping with mesh produce bags, and unplugging electronics when not in use. We believe small steps such as these can have a ripple effect and lead to larger changes in consciousness. The campaign is part of our commitment to the Laudato Si’ Action Platform.
Because “we all need community to live the Laudato Si’ message” (LS 219) we also invite you to participate in our Laudato Si’ Circle, a 30-minute Zoom gathering for prayer and reflection on the climate emergency and to support one another in our journeys of ecological conversion.
Follow us this week as we celebrate these and other earth care initiatives and share your thoughts in the comments section below.
