Each year from September 1 to October 4, the Christian family unites for the Season of Creation, a worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home, recognizing that our well-being is interwoven with the well-being of Earth and our co-creatures. On Thursday, October 2, from 11 am to 12 pm, the Dominican Sisters of Hope will sponsor a Pilgrimage of Hope for Creation at The Center at Mariandale. With readings, songs, prayer, and ritual, we’ll celebrate the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the Season of Creation, and our Pollinator Protection Project. Pilgrims will meet at 299 N. Highland Ave, Ossining, NY in the Evergreen Room in the main building (near the Shield Door / accessible entrance) and process outside to bless our mugwort remediation effort, celebrate our Garden of Hope harvest, pray for the healing of the Hudson River, and bless the plants and animals who share the land at Mariandale. The public is warmly welcome, and Spanish language simultaneous translation will be available. For questions or to register, contact Leeanna Varga at lvarga@ophope.org or 914-941-4455 x128.
