This year we’re celebrating Hope’s 30th anniversary and also the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si’. The anniversaries are not only a time to look back and celebrate, but also to recommit to our mission to preach the Gospel to the world in communion with all creation. We celebrate these joys even in the face of climate chaos, and as violence and cruelty run rampant in our world. There are many things out of our control, but each day we make choices and have opportunities to act in hope-filled ways.
To celebrate our anniversary, Sisters and Associates are committing individually to completing “30 Sparks of Hope” between now and our celebratory anniversary Mass in July 2026. We invite everyone to join us! There is no “right way” to do this, we’re all at different places in our lives – geographically and personally. Whatever you decide to do, 30 is a bold number!
To build and maintain a fire, you need three things: spark, fuel, and oxygen. To build and maintain our fire of HOPE, we need you! We’re collecting stories of your SPARKS (an act of hope you’ve done), FUEL (an act of hope you’ve received) and OXYGEN (an act of hope you’ve witnessed and shared). Your sparks and sharing will keep the fire of HOPE burning for all of us! Also we’ll be gathering regularly online, to pray and share our sparks with one another, and learn and take action together.
