Few things are as beautiful as a fall day in the Northeast. Today was no exception. Rather than continuing to work normally in our respective offices, sisters and staff joined together at Mariandale to “walk the land” together this morning. The experience was meant to help staff learn more about the campus, and to take time for all to appreciate the surrounding natural beauty.

As everyone broke into small groups, we soon found ourselves amidst fire-orange leaves, happily buzzing bees, and a serene Hudson that reflected the vast, cloudless sky. To say that it was a spiritual experience would be an understatement; it was truly a time of connection both with each other and with Earth. At the end of the walk and following contemplative session, we prayed A Prayer for Our Earth taken from Laudato Si’.

Images from the walk are below. We hope that they portray some of the deep peace that filled us today.
