Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Moorestown, New Jersey was named a 2015 Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United States Department of Education and the Council for American Private Education. Dominican Sister of Hope Rosemarie Wdzieczkowski, OP, who has taught at Our Lady of Good Counsel for the past nineteen years, says that she and her colleagues couldn’t be happier.

“Everyone here is very excited,” reports Sister Rosemarie. Sister says that, although her kindergarten students are too young to understand the award, their passion for learning continues to energize her.

“When you do teach the material every year, it becomes repetitive,” Sister explains. “But, for them, it’s always the first time. It’s exciting!”

Our Lady of Good Counsel School is part of the Diocese of Trenton and presently provides a Catholic education for 420 students in Prekindergarten 4 through Grade 8. The Catholic school is one of only fifty private schools in the nation, six of them from New Jersey, that have been so honored this year.

The announcement of the school’s Blue Ribbon Award, along with 331 other schools across the country, can be viewed in the video above.
