Guided Contemplation

with Sr. Madeleine Tacy, OP

Tuesday, March 11th at 6 pm ET via Zoom

Find some peace in your busy week for quiet contemplation. Dominican Sister of Hope Madeleine Tacy, OP will lead us in guided zen meditation and a brief introductory reflection.

Together, we will enter into silence in the sangha practice. In times that call each of us to “laundry of the soul,” we will expand our practice with brief direction and then a silent sit. There will also be an opportunity for fellowship for those who wish to confer with others in the group. This event is free and open to all.

Madeleine Tacy, OP, D.Min, is a Dominican Sister of Hope who lives in Dartmouth, MA. She served as a teacher, and began her meditation practice in 1972 with a house of prayer experience. In 1999, she began studying with Father Kevin Hunt, OSCO, Roshi. In 2018, she received transmission from him. Sister Madeleine is now a Sensei in the Day Star Sangha and a registered member of the White Plum Sangha, the professional organization for Soto Zen in the USA.

Nuns & Nones Zoom Gathering

Thursday, March 13th at 7 pm ET

All people, including laypeople, participate in or create a Sabbath of some sort. Join us on Zoom as we discuss Ezra Klein’s podcast: Sabbath and the Art of Rest. What does Sabbath mean to you? And, if Sabbath is more than just taking a break from the world, how do we act to create a different one? While we encourage all to listen to the podcast in advance, all are welcome, regardless of whether they have listened to the podcast or not.

. All Catholic Sisters and millennials are welcome. Email Gina at gciliberto@ophope.org for the Zoom link.

Dominican Madness

Throughout Lent

Throughout Lent, the Dominican Sisters of Hope are deepening our knowledge about the Dominican Family, and inviting others to join us, with a public contest called Dominican Madness. Using the bracket framework of March Madness, we share stories, photos, and biographical info everyday about a member of the Dominican family. The public is then invited to vote for their favorites, with the goal of “crowning” a winner during Holy Week.

Although the voting is lighthearted, our hope is that, as we learn about these holy humans, we will grow in holiness and replicate their deep faith during this Lenten season.
