In Support of Sisters Speak Out

Tuesday, June 24th, marks an action at the U.S. Capitol called Sisters Speak Out. As we stand in solidarity with our sisters in D.C., we’re creating a contemplative space for those who support the action but can’t be present at the Capitol.

Join us for as much time or as little time, as many times as you’d like, throughout the morning.

Sisters Speak Out

On Tuesday, June 24th at 10 am, Catholic Sisters from about 50 congregations will gather at the U.S. Capitol. The event, called Sisters Speak Out, will urge the Senate to reject steep budget cuts that will gut healthcare and food assistance, and to oppose the massive increase in spending for inhumane roundup of immigrants, deportation without due process, and cruel family separation.

As we stand in solidarity with our sisters in D.C., we’re coming together to pray with them.

“Every ministry that Catholic Sisters have been involved in—education, health care, and social services—is under attack by the Trump Administration. We are here to speak out on behalf of the people we serve and work alongside in these ministries.”

-Sister Reg McKillip, OP, Promoter of Peace and Justice for Dominican Sisters
